Is Ubuntu still freely available? Might get a copy for my VMware machine if it is. I'll stick with Windows XP for my main OS though

Pretty, but that's about it. I'm a PC enthusiast myself, yet I cannot stand gimmicks like this... they don't help me in any way whatsoever and just serve to get on my nerves. Desktop composition - great idea, hardware-accelerated desktop, don't see anything wrong with it. Stupid effects that contribute nothing except a 'hay check out my desktop lol' factor - I'll pass, thanks.

Awesome I'll get that so I can run all those branded applications I own and I can play the latest games on it aswell as having full driver support for mainstream hardware.
