Playstation PAL games in 60Hz ?

I've heard that it's possible to play PAL PSX games on a PAL machine in 60Hz if you're using a special device like an Action Replay/Xploder/Gameshark or something.

Is this true, and which devive is capable of doing this exactly?
I've heard there are many different versions of those cheating devices out there oO

PS: I have an RGB cable, my TV supports 60Hz and my Playstation is modded and has a parallel port.

For PS1 I've only ever heard of a hardware hack to increase the clock speed: http://www.undergroundcm.com/index.p...d=17&Itemid=40
But maybe someone else knows better?

That's actually completely unrelated though, it's more for making games less jerky etc.

You can use the Breaker Pro bootdisc to force PAL PS1 games into 60Hz, though this often causes syncronisation problems or overscan. Usually better to just track down true NTSC games.

Some PS2 modchips let you force 60Hz for PS2 and PS1 games, but having done it with PAL PS2 games it causes some weird issues. Devil May Cry (horrendous PAL version if you don't remember) had the top third of the screen moved to the bottom. It was full screen, though

Thx so far for the suggestions.

          That's interesting, I'll try that.

So noone has done this with a cheating device?
If everything fails, I'll have to patch & burn..

This is also the cheaper method more often than not. I'd second it, if you can just nab NTSC software

Only for PS2 games. If you're interested...
