Having problems with my official 360 network apaptor.PLEASE HELP!

Hi guys, I couldn't get onto live tonight and it appears to be my official 360 network adaptor that's either knackered or causing the problem. The light on it isn't green anymore..it's red and when I do the connection checks on the 360 it tells my my network adaptor isn't connected! Ofcourse this is horse crap.it is connected! Could it by a lose or bolluxed wire inside the adaptor?

Do I need a new one? Anyone else had problems too either now or previously with the adaptor??
I'm using a quality netgear router and I've had no internet connection problems on my normal pc either. I can't get onto live at the mo as wireless is the only way I can play !
Any help or advice apprecited guys...
    Mark.

Sounds like the adaptor is broke (not unknown) or the USB port. Try it in the front port.

if it says the adapter is not connected it just means it's not connected wirelessly to your router, not that the usb port's buggered or that the adapter is faulty in that sense.

if the adapter was not being recognised by the 360 it wouldn't even include it in the test.

go to network settings, then go down to the wireless bit at the bottom and press A, then it'll search for access points/routers and try take it from there.

if it won't find any access points/routers at all then maybe there's something up with it, in which case you can try another port if you want, but the red light on the adapter means it's recognised by the 360 at least

Thx for your help guys! I've got it all sorted now! For some reason it stopped recognising my network set up even though it's been working fine since Feb 06! I had to re configure everything regarding my router! It's done me a big favour in a way because I didn't have any security set up pn my network but now I have! When i was doing tests I actually picked up on 3 local networks so maybe it was one of those that were causing the problem in the first place! In short the adaptor wasn't knackered at all!

I like happy endings! I've had mine plugged in on the front for ages, not realising there's a usb port on the back especially for it..... doh.

You've got to have your attena standing to attention.

Makes your 360 looks like a frisky little pup....albeit one with adenoid problems!!

Yeah I 'm ok thx! Hope you are too! I'm still importing games, not just for the 360 but now also for the PS3. I picked one up on launch day. When it comes to American sports titles such as NCAA and the MLB ones that never get released over here the region free PS3 is a Godsend really. I know of guys who are changing from the 360 tothe PS3 because of this very reason. Ncaa 08 and Madden 08 already on pre order for the PS3 now for over a month!

                Take it easy!
