JPN Shenmue query

Does anyone know if the jap versions of shenmue 1 & 2 on the DC have an english language option?

Assuming they're completely in japanese, does anyone know a way round the issue concerning disc swapping the pal version on a jap machine?

You'll have to get the JAP "Shenmue US version" to have English text and/or dialogues. A swap disc to play PAL or US on the JAP console should work, if that's your question?

Yeah that was my question. I was of the understanding that you couldn't use a swap disc on games with more than one disc. Maybe I heard wrong.

forgive my ingnorance, but what is the jap "shenmue US version"? and where would I get it?

To be honest, with the modding that goes on in the DC scene, I'm surprised no one hasn't tried to rip the English subtitles out of the re-released Japanese version and tried placing/editing them in the original with Japanese voiceovers.

Sega could solve all of this by re-releasing Shenmue I and II together on blu-ray with multiple soundtrack options in a retro release, but there's probably less chance of that happening than the sun exploding in the next three seconds.
