    PSP not turning on

Hi guys. I am having a major prob with my PSP - it does not turn on.
When I switch it on, the power light comes on but there is no sign of action at all - no picture, sound or even UMD access. It just happened suddenly and has not been dropped.

I reckon it is a power issue but was hoping someone here may know more about it. Any ideas? Gutted cos i just bought some ps1 games for it too. It has an up to date (ish) firmware and has not been bricked by something like that.

Have you tried turning it on with the charger plugged in??

yep. Green light (though i am a little colour blind... )
Tried with charger with and without battery as i initially thought it may have been a battery problem. Thanks anyway. Any other ideas?

We had a few PSPs returned to the store I worked at over xmas with that problem, how long had you had the system? They worked a couple of times then just randomly packed in and it was too widespread (about 6 different customers within a week) to be system abuse. so we assumed it was a dodgy batch (shipped over November time) if it's still under warranty I'd take it back to the retailer and see what they say.

Cheers mate. Actually, it is a japanese one from about Jan 05. Not under warranty.

It was completely at random which makes me believe that it is a simple power issue. Did the ones you saw have any indication of power such as noise or access?

            a few suggestions:
            1)charged?
            2) remove battery and leave out for an hour or so then replace and test
            3) replace battery with working friends/replacement from shops and then test to see if battery or psp
            4) remove battery, put in charger and try to start up
5)if not, i have no idea
