I'm looking at trying my hand at building mysef a VERY basic web site so was after some recommendations for free or super cheap software to build it with.

So what do you lt recommend for a total noob...this will be my first ever go at one??

Nvu seems decent and is free.

Don't listen to him!! Actually, sort of listen to him. Use DW for plain HTML & a CSS editor (stylemaster or cssedit) for your design/speed up your stylings.

Separate your content (HTML)from your design (CSS) & it'll be much easier to go back to if changes are needed.

Dreamweaver ftw, or good old Notepad if you're 1337 (like me)

I prefer doodling in photoshop these days. Don't bother with Flash unless you want to copy everything else out there, plus it's a semi-bastard to learn.
