    dragonplus controller converter help

    Hey guys,

I got this converter this morning from VG+ (it's the only one they sell) and I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to work. Says on the box that I need to turn on analog function to make it work, but when I do that the left analog stick acts as if it is stuck in the up direction (menus go up, character in the game move forward constantly), and the down direction does not respond at all. It goes back to normal if I turn off analog function, but then I can't use the analog sticks, which are a requirement for most games. Anyone have this same converter could help me out here and tell me what it is I'm doing wrong ?

    Assuming it's for PS3...this one?

I've been using one of them and not had any problems with it at all. It's pretty much foolproof so doubt you are doing anything wrong.

Only things I can suggest are:
-try the pad with a PS2 to make sure it's not faulty (assuming you still have one)
-make sure both the controller & adapter are plugged in before turning on the PS3
-try another pad if you have a spare
    -try another usb port

Yeah it's the same one. I've tried it with three different pads, always had the same problem, I do plug both adapter and controller before the console is turned on, and I must have tried two different usb ports as well, to no avail. And I'm pretty sure my ps2 pad works, since I was using it just yesterday to play on my ps2.

I thought that would probably be the case. Sounds very likely that the converter is faulty I'm afraid.

The only other thing I can think of is plugging it into a PC & going into Control Panel (control panel/printers & other hardware/ game controllers) to test the calibration to see if it's doing the same thing. My guess is that it probably will.

Indeed it does. Soon as I turn on the analog button, the X/Y axis cursor goes all up and gets stuck there,(pushing down on the stick only brings it back to the middle) and the Z axis bar goes way up. So it seems like it's definitely a problem with the converter.

I wrote to VG+ to tell them my problem in addition to posting here, so hopefully they'll offer me a replacement. Thanks for your help man.

You're welcome. Sorry it wasn't better news though!

VG+ are usually pretty good if you have any probs so they'll hopefully sort you out with a replacement shortly.
