    Upscaler advice needed

I have a 50 inch toshiba DLP, and while I love it dearly, it can't play my old consoles like the Saturn and N64. Basically, games are flickery and run too fast, it's almost as if they are missing frames.

I had a similar problem with wii games on the Virtual console, but this was rectified when I bought a component lead for it.

Basically, what I want to know is if there's an upscaler that will enable me to play these old machines. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

You can buy external upscalers...for a price!

I was wondering the same and started this thread: "Nintendo Wii - HD Upscaling Advice"

Basically, if you're looking for an external upscaler you're going to be paying between $1000 and $3000!

These are what I was recommended to look into:

    www.lumagen.com

Strider, that's odd, "flickery and run too fast".

I think I get what you mean by flickery - fast-flashing graphics in older games look messed up on the screen, right? Running too fast is odd though.

If you say that running the Virtual Console games in 480p over Component fixed it, it's possible that you could run the affected consoles through a cheapish upscaling DVD Recorder and view them through that. There may be lag and it might not do a better job, but it's worth a try if you can maybe borrow one?
