Do Game not price match anymore?

Yesterday i wanted them to price match the opposite Currys with no luck and today with the opposite Woolies, again with no luck.

Have they changed their policy completely?

I think being a tosser is the main criteria that the bosses at GAME look for when employing staff, every store I know is full of them.

I tried getting them to do a price match for me not long ago and they refused by saying that they knew the store I wanted them to price match against had no copies of the game left when they clearly did.

Any shop that won`t sell you a games machine unless you buy another £200 worth of wank games bundled with it is ****! I really do have to be desperate to shop in GAME and thankfully that isn`t very often!

It was only a matter of £2 but still they refused, and there is no way im letting them think they can overcharge for items, the bloke even said as they dont see Woolies as their competetor that they wont price match, so i got the item from Woolies took it back in and told em clearly they are a competetor.

As soon as i have used the £188 in there i will never shop there again.

Woolworths clearly is a competitor, you are 100% correct mate. The Gamestation I work at, every Friday we check the prices of the new releases at Woolworths and then change our prices to match them. Extremely strange that GAME do not do the same.

I was told by the manager of my local game that they will not price match supermarkets as they sell the games as loss leaders.

I don't think he was specifically referring to you mate
I used to work for Game, and i see the guy's point (although to be fair, it's the middle-managers up & Head Office staff which fall squarely and truly into that category)...
As for their price match policy, they no longer price match what they deem as 'superstores/supermarkets', ie Tesco, PC World etc. It's yet another reason they've given customers to stop shopping there, but that's a whole other thread. Woolworths should be fine for them to price match though.

Its posts like yours which really bring the maturity level of this whole forum down a few pegs and i hope a mod can clean this thread up a bit.

to make this post not completely worthless and send it back on topic.Game do not price match, rubbish isn't it but they also have most new releases after just a few weeks down to ?20 which is lower than elsewhere. so you win some you lose some.

With the takeover of Gamestation by the GAME group, has that affected their policy regarding price matching or is it too early days?

My local Gamesation has done a few price matches for me in the past including games from Tesco which as we know sell games as a loss leader.
