    Pokemon playable in Japanese?

    I've never played a Pokemon title before (do not laugh). Do I need to be able to read text to enjoy it? What's the difference in the ones on DS too? There seem to be quite a few of them.

    I'd stick to English. While it's not exactly a plot heavy game, it does help to be able to know what move does what, where to go next etc.

      Diamond and Pearl are the proper ones, the others are all spin-off's. And you'd want to go for English, it'd really help, lots of text.
