Why no F1 Game on the 360?

As the title really, is there any reason why there isn't a F1 game on the 360?

Sony have the official F1 game licence but there is nothing to stop anyone putting F1 type cars into a game - like they did in Gran Turismo 3.

Would be nice if they were part of some Forza 2 DLC

Forget that. I want GP Legends. F1 has been played to death.

They never made a sequel to the PC GP Legends did they?

An F1 game on the 360 would be mint. Regarding the lack of an offical F1 license - I wouldn't mind the drivers/teams names being fictional providing all the tracks from the 2007 calendar were included.

Cheers for the answers, I haven't played an F1 game for a while I am begining to miss the idea of qualifying and challenging for pole. I don't think any other driving gamees have the same feel as F1 games. I wont be getting a PS3 though so it looks as if I will have to go without.

It has always confused me how other games either ignore qualifying or make it much less of a part of the game than in F1 games. I agree with you that they always feel different to other racing games and I have also been waiting for another game to take up that same kind of feeling applied to Touring or Sports Cars.

From the article below it seems the exclusivity deal ends next year so hopefully Sony wont get chance to extend it & we'll finally get a decent F1 game on 360.
The Studio Liverpool ones i've played have all been pretty rubbish.

I believe no one have manage to make better F1 games than Sir Geoff Crammond.

I would love a XBOX 360 version of Grand Prix 4 with HDTV graphics, surround sound and updated stats and data. I believe Atari (I think) have scrapped Grand Prix 4 for XBOX despite almost finished.

I think developers of PGR / Forza and GT series should have a go.

Why is Studio Liverpool game are rubbish - just like to know. I find past version hard to play due to too much pace and no weight and hard to control. (Sound like a F1 car)

A 360 F1 game would be cool. Hopefully EA won't get the rights again though.

I love F1. I love racing games. Oddly, not a big fan of F1 games though. The ideal F1 game for me would be Micro Machines F1. Won't somebody please make it happen?

The only way to play F1 on the X360 as far as I can see is the last EA XBox F1 game, the management-y one. F1 Career Challenge I think? You follow a team over 4 seasons, and the real championship data is used from these years.

I just want to drive around the Monaco circuit with really good graphics. Has anyone tried this with backwards compatibility? Is it worth getting off eBay? Or are the Gamecube F1 games passable / not too dated graphically through the Wii? Don't want to have to buy a PS3 for this!

Isn't there, like, 23,235 racing games for the 360? Just play one of those but sit on the floor for that authentic F1 feel.

But I want to drive round the Monte Carlo circuit!! Are there any other non-F1 games that have that track?
