I bought mine on ebay. So check it out. Try to get NTSC Dreamcast if possible as it boot better in 60hz, but if you use VGA display it doesn't matter.

Ask him if he'll do the little switch to force VGA too!

The chip wont let you play all region games, just original Japanese games.. its obsolete TBH with the creation of that new region changer disc thing..

I just bought a few parts to make a really cool Dreamcast, its going to have a blue power LED, the little link up wire on the bottom of the mainboard so that the region changer disc can be used (and therefore also force all games into 60hz), overclock switch so you can change from 200-240mhz (for pure coolness) and internal VGA so it can just be hooked up straight to a monitor or HDTV.

Just waiting for a crystal oscillator from the states.. they were sold out over here

You can probably do the mod yourself. I personally think it's the simplest of all the mods - there are only four wires, or is it five? On the chips I use, boots everything without any probs.

May have read this wrong but, eh? What chips are you using, the modchip will boot all region originals, as well as knock them into 60hz without the annoying PAL 50/60 selection screen - bar a few titles which still ask.

Yes but I only have a Mega CD 2.

You also need to make sure you've got a double-switched Megadrive since these switches are required to correctly boot up each different BIOS.

The one I used was from RobWebb Family Game; there is a chip which boots all region originals in 60hz? Can you show me it?

Oh! I just saw one at some site when I searched on google (dont know if I can link to it...) How long have these been out then? I had only seen ones that booted Japanese games ?? I stand corrected good sir

If it has an internal VGA mod can you also have an RGB scart cable hooked up at the same time? (For games that wont work in VGA)

Yeah, you just have a switch to enable or disable VGA, with the switch you can force quite a few non-VGA games to play in VGA as well (wait until after Sega logo and then change the switch from VGA-off to VGA-on I think)
