    Editing video from a dvd

Greetings all I'm after a bit of advice on the best way to go about getting video off some dvds to edit together. All home movie (not that kind) type stuff that I'd like in a decent order etc. I currently have it on four dvds so what would be the best thing to do to get 'editable' material from it? Also it is at all possible to seperate the audio from the video? I'm a bit of a novice in this field. Oh and I'm using Adobe Premiere or whatever it's called.

    Thanks a lot.

easiest thing to do is to just copy all the files off the discs in windows, then find the biggest files on the disc (usually VOB format)

rename the VOB to MPG and bam you should be able to open them straight up in premiere.
Premiere will let you export out the video without sound and vice versa
