Lol they both sound like pretty amazing TVs to get but if your budget is limited and your 16 how are you affording a ?700 telly. Are you a porn star part time or something?

They sound good prices but id shop around everywhere before buying. Dixons and all that lot.

Hughes just now told me that the 32" Panny 50Hz is now ?599. Surely I won't find a better TV for that price?

And it will work fine with my Import Consoles?

I would only ever buy Toshiba crt televisions as they are the best especially in the all important quality of image and connectivity stakes.
I would totally forget about rear-progection unless your splashing out significantly more than your ?600 budget.

Try this i can guarantee it will outperform the panasonic you are considering in every department

Panasonics have a reputation for dodgy quality control. I know two people who have bought Panasonics in the past couple of years - the first are my parents, who bought a 28" widescreen Tau model. I think it's shockingly poor quality, and to make matters worse the top right hand corner is distorted. My folks never noticed it, but I saw it within seconds - an area of the screen about 4" square looks like it's pinched.

The other is a friend of mine who works near Cambridge. He bought a 32" widescreen from Comet on offer for ?700 just a few months ago. He returned it within a few days because it was so bad in comparison to the Sony he was using before. He said the image quality was just atrocious.

Against this, some people have Panasonics and love them, so I believe it's more down to differences between individual models, rather than being able to say 'Panasonic are rubbish'

If you like the look of it then I wouldn't try to dissuade you - it's your own personal choice, but check out the returns policy as you might end up with one that has a fault, or might not look as good as in the shop (BTW, shops are a bad place to try and make a decision on a TV - they tend to run at weird calibrations to account for shop lighting and high amounts of reflections - it'll almost always look different when you get it home and adjuct the colour/brightness/contrast settings)

Also, fuzzybee is right - just now Toshiba ownz the CRT market - they are awesome.

My experience of Panasonics is that I bought a 32 inch Tau, and ended up selling it four months later as I thought the picture was absolutely shocking and was glad to return back to my old 21 inch Sony. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

I recently just got a Toshiba picture frame 2, 32zp38. I'm pretty happy with it, but not completely, but it's certainly streets ahead of the Panasonic. I think I have a problem with the digital processing involved in 100hz sets that's not that bad with television and DVD viewing but can impact badly on video games.
I sort of wish I'd just got a cheaper 50hz really, but I'm getting used to the Toshiba - and Prog-scan gamecube games look great on it.

No tv is perfect, i have the original 36inch version of Toshibas ZP18 picture frame and it looks stunning and gives a beautiful image with anything i throw at it.
However the tv does have some niggles i'm not entirely happy with,
the 100hz processing is very good but on some transmissions(usually US coverage of Golf) the processing seems to struggle with the ball with a small trail following it. This does not happen on Golf coverage from the UK, the British Open for instance was flawless.
Foreign transmissions of Football sometimes have a similar problem, maybe it's down to how high or low the bandwith is for certain transmissions ??

Toshiba are the market leaders in CRT technology and always seem to be the first and best at what they implement into their tv's. I would only ever buy Toshiba but thats only through my experiences, they have never let me down so i will keep going back to them as and when i need a new tv (Plasma next for me) 8)

Is this model capable of prog scan do you know?

I'm torn between a Tosh prog scan or the Panasonic projector which is around ?600 and I've heard good things about it.

You also mention probs with your 100HZ picture. I followed a very extensive thread dealing with the Tosh prog scan model picture frame and the upshot was ALWAYS have it in progressive mode.

I'm not to sure if it's Prog Scan or not, the description in not to clear, this one does ntsc Prog Scan

regarding my problems it's not rearlly a problem just something i tend to notice(No one else who views my tv notices anything)
My tv(ZP18) only has 100hz and Natural prosessing and is interlaced only so no progressive option
