Can anyone please recommend me a 5 way scart splitter..

I found this one, gold plated, looks ok but could be naff?

I thought that maybe someone on these forums must use one...the last one i bought before HD was crap (my own fault, very cheap) but i got a seperate tv now for retro, so looking to buy.

    Thank you

I use a B-tech Quintro. Which can be had for about 55 quid. Expensive but very good with automated switching and remote control.

Vivanco do a 5-way splitter I think. I'm using their 3-way splitter, and it's fantastic.

i spent about a week looikng, and probably the best over all is the joytech av control centre. its around 40-50 pounds and has signal boosting technology which apparentley not only maintains the source picture quality, but improves on the source rgb feed in areas too(colour etc)

the b-tech quintro looses quality when more than 1 scart is connected, and many other brands do too.

the absolute best would be the js tech master scart box, but they only have 2 inputs.....but proffesional quality.

          hope that helps.

Which is better, the Joytech AV Control Centre 1 or 2? and where can you still buy them from?

Also, does anyone have the Holdan HSR1000? and is it any good? Link:-

Just a thought mate, I've got a GAME scart splitter you can have for a few quid if you want. It's never been used, and at least then you can see if it's adequate for your needs without spending a lot more on a Joytech for instance.

Actually I think that was down to a faulty batch. I have used my Quintro with all five inputs used and noticed very little image degradation. There is a tiny amount, as adding a whole load of switching circuitry and multiple signal paths into the chain between console and TV will always degrade the signal by some measurable (though often barely tangible) degree.

You'll be lucky finding anything with more than 4 SCART inputs except from specialist professional AV suppliers and that means very high cost.

I've been using using a manual fully wired 4 input SCART selector (from Lektropacks) connected to a 2 input version of the same model. This gives me 5 SCART input options but it's a crude system. Now, after a couple of years of regular use, the contacts have definitely worn down and it causes real hassle positioning the dial selector switch to get correct contact at each position.

This one takes 5 inputs. Anyone know if it's any good?

I got the Vivanco after it was mentioned in this thread. I'm very pleased with it.

I have a Vivanco 5 way SCART control centre too which I've always been pleased with but, unless they've changed the specification recently, only 4 sockets are RGB.

There are several versions of this basic design available under different brand names. The Trilogy 1 (available from Lektropacks) can control up to 10 devices, more than the Vivanco, but again only has 4 RGB SCART sockets.
