Connecting Laptop to Projector = PROBLEMS!

So i bought an EPSON - EMP - S42 projector today and tried hooking it up to my ACER Travelmate 4100 laptop (for a presentation) - but i get "no signal" - ive chekced everything and i am usiing the right leads etc etc (the composite lead)

No the message i get is this:

"check if the projector is connected with a built in LCD screen, make sure the image signals are OUTPUT to the porjector and not to the screen"

i think i knw what it means but i DONT know what to do - i troed plugging setup into old laptop and it worked but i dont think it has a LCD screen (like my Travelmate does) - Can anybody help me?

Im sure i just need to do something in CONTROL PANEL - BUT WHAT???

basically all the message is saying is make sure you've enabled the external output on the laptop, this is generally a vga connection (its usally the FN + F4/F5/F6 key, depends on model). However, if your using composite you'll have to enable TV-Out in the BIOS and in the advanced options of display properties.
