    Squashed UMDs

    Hey-ho.

After going through the grief of replacing the UMD drive in my 1.00 JPN PSP I've realised that the problem wasn't the drive but my girlf packing every single UMD I own into the carry case and squashing them all slightly. Some of them just require the top window to be popped back into position but a lot of them are truly buggered. Aside from gluing them all back together, which is something I don't want to contemplate, is there something about akin to a DVD-RAM replacement cassette where I can just drop the actual disc from the UMD into a new cassette?

    Please god say there is.

Well apparently this company offers such a service - I havent used them myself though and I dont know if you could just buy the cases from them, or if you would have to send them your games:-

Might be worth an email though

That's interesting, ta. I draw the line at shipping all my UMDs off to the States, but I'll hunt around the 'Bay and see if anyone's flogging UMD cassettes.

I never realised before how truly flimsy they are.

Hmph. Apparently the only fix, as no one sells replacement cases, is to hijack a demo UMD or something. Pants. Still, it seems only 3 UMDs have gone a bridge too far, so it looks like I'm gluin'.

why not ask in the requests section for some demos n one is using, i'm sure there are plenty of guys on here who have the one that came with their psp's and aren't using it.

Surprised no 3rd party is selling replacement PSP caddies - don't think they're designed to be removed.
