Japanese Wii Queries

Thought I may pick up one of these while in Japan but had a coupla questions.
Does the Virtual Console Service work in the U.K? and if so which will it connect to - U.K/U.S/Jap service?
Also wondered if the Wii supports RGB? As am aware the import GC's didn't.

Japanese Wii's connect to the Japanese Virtual Console, and specifically uses Japanese Wii Points.

NTSC Wii's do not support RGB, though many people use a Component-to-RGB converter to achieve comparable quality.
The next best thing is S-Video.

Yup vc works fine in uk & you dont have to put your address in or anything when you buy vc points.

I use my normal uk visa card. all you need is your CC number, expiry date & CCV number off the back. Click & the points are there.

Other bonuses are the fact the points are cheaper for the jpn vc.

Also wondered if there is any way at the mo. of running u.s or pal titles?

You can't use the gamecube component cable as they changed the socket shape. You'll have to buy a proper wii component cable instead.

Im pretty sure there are modchips to allow you to play other regions but they dont work 100% theres games that refuse to boot or that have playing problems.

Can anyone recommend a component to RGB converter? I can hook up to my LCD's at home through component over the summer, but when I'm at my flat for the rest of the year I use a flashy 14" CRT Philips VCR Combi!
