Payperdrop ebay seller - who's used them?

Can anyone comment on the service provided by this ebay company? Looking to send my xbox back to scotland for further repairs and it looks like this would be a nice way of getting it back to them, considering their next day guaranteed + up to £1000 insurance option is the same price as royal mail's standard parcels. I originally dismissed them out of hand when I first learnt of their existance, but if they're reliable enough I would be prepared to give them a try.

I understand they are agents for DHL (not exactly sure on this though), so how exactly does their business work? Do they simply pass on my details to a DHL courier and take like a comission or something like that?

I've used them many times, as it was I that recommended them a company may have an account with a courier company, the more parcels a company sends, the better a rate it gets.

So whilst it may cost Joe Blow a lot of money to send a parcel with a courier company, it can cost another company with an account much less.

When you pay them and provide the details, they arrange it all with DHL.

The reliability seems to depend on your local DHL driver, my previous DHL guy used to turn up at almost same time every day etc, now its some new guys who aren't bad.

Anyway, if you give them a try, everything should be ok, if the collection fails to take place just email them with another date to collect and they should sort it out..

I've read that a driver should turn up the same day so long as you book before 10am. Problem is I've just started work (if you can call it that) and no longer have the luxury of time to myself. Apparently you'd be subject to additional fees if there's no-one in when the driver turns up so I would need to arrange the time off.

That's correct, i've booked parcels at 9:55am and they have been collected the same day. One thing to note is that the driver will almost never call in the morning to pick up a parcel, as they all do business deliveries first thing e.g. in town centres.

If theres nobody in when the driver calls, I would think that you would just lose your ?5.99 or whatever price paid.. as to rebook probably costs the same amount again for payperdrop.

You don't necessarily have to take time off.. if you work in an office or something, as long as you ok it with your work, you can have the pick up address as the reception of the office etc, leave it with them? Or perhaps parents / friends / other relatives?
