    360 HD DVD drive questions

I did a search on this but couldn't find answers, can anyone tell me:

    1. Can I stop the annoying "Username has signed on" messages from Xbox Live popping up over films - is there any way of doing this without having to manually sign out first?

    2. Why does the Open/Close (Eject) button on the included remote eject the main console's tray rather than that of the HD DVD player? Is there any way to fix this?

    1. Yes, with the recent update it lets you turn off notifications for videos & games, or videos only.

    2. Don't think there's a way to make it eject the HD drive using the remote.

Aha. Guess I can live with ejecting on the drive itself, seems odd though. Thanks, that's great!

I'm glad to get rid of my slow, bulky Toshiba HD-A1, this is such a breath of fresh air. (Edit: by comparison, I mean).

        Np,
Only downside with te 360 HD player is the noise. It's very loud.

Will a US drive work on an UK machine as MN has just announced a price drop and 5 free films on his blog.

As the dollars so weak against the pound at the moment is is worth a shot now?

I gather Blu-ray had gained momentum after the PS3 launch has the dust started to settle yet?

Any HD DVD drive will work with any 360. The films are all region-free too.

Loads of people here imported US drives, the PSUs are even multi voltage. You just need a UK figure of 8 power cord.

Has anyone had any success on hooking one up to a PC? Last time we tried, had no joy, but I have a couple of HD-DVD's in the post, so I'm gonna give it another go. Any tips??
