Am I really this bad at 360 Call Of Duty 2 online?

I'm more of a casual gamer these days I have to admit, but I'm getting hammered on COD 2 against online opponents!!
How come some of these guys are so quick & accurate with their aiming, even when using low key weapons like rifles & pistols?

I dont think its all my fault mind u, as I'm sure that there are a few cheaters on there. The amount of times I've shot some1 in the face pointblank with a shotgun only to find them survive & kill me is a bit dodgy .

Plus I'm a lefty & the controls are all f**ked up even if u use the southpaw controls so I'm switching between the 2 analogue stick controls to see what works best, eventhough neither seems to be better!!. I've sort of gotten used to righty controls on games due to the lack of the lefty options in games but it doesnt quite feel right if u know what I mean.

I wish they could let u set your own button layout to include the D-Pad like they did on DC Quake 3!

Use a bolt-action rifle (Kar98k, Mosin-Nagant, Lee Enfield). If you hit someone it has a good chance of killing them in one and they're very accurate, and if you're quick enough to get the first shot off you can nail people with SMGs and shotguns without too much difficulty.

There's a bit of learning curve because of the long time between shots but stick with it.
