component to vga on wii any one do this ?

looking to get a wii soon and have a question

i've never used component before and now have a new monitor for my pc a 22 inch widescreen with a spare vga input

is it possible to use the component lead with some kind of convertor, will it be a rgb to vga convertor ?

i would like to use my monitor as it will be better than my tv

advise welcome for the best way to do this, recommend places to buy from

The VDigi VD-Z3 will work for this, or if you cannot find one, wait for a similar device by XCM.

Note that only Progressive Scan games will work, though there are only a handful of 480i-only titles.

More expensive is the JS Technology Component to RGB Scart/VGA converter, which I have is very good. It will convert 480i games (like Raving Rabbids) to RGB Scart and 480p games like Zelda:TP and Wii Sports, Resi 4 etc. to VGA.

I don't think the XCM one is out yet.

I can try and find my VD-Z3 and let it go for £20 if you want it, that's if I can find it though. Works on XBox a treat to.

thanks for that as i was looking around for it without much luck. the price is good too i thought it would be a lot more than 30 quid

I have this as well and although I mainly use it for RGB out to my CRT, I occasionally use the VGA for my cube which is assigned to the bedroom.
But like Gunrock says, it's very good!
