Will Mario Sunshine get a DS release ?

Was my daughter that asked the question really, they obviously did it with Mario 64. Sunshine wasn't as big a seller but surely there are fans of the game out there who would pick it up again if it got a re-release on the handheld.

Has the idea ever been mooted about by Nintendo ?

I doubt the DS has the graphical power or the precision control required.

I reckon they could do it. PH looks almost identical to WW after all. There is no more precise control than the stylus either IMO.

What what, is Sunshine really any more precise than SM64? More complicated and less intuitive, certainly...

Considering how close PH looks to WW, I reckon it could be done relatively easily.

It's got a fixed camera though. Wouldn't exactly lend itself well to Mario Sunshine imo. And i much prefered Mario Sunshine to Mario 64, so i'd love if they made a DS version.

Yeah, there was kind of a Mario Sunshine level in Mario 64 DS so they could do it.

But I think they'll save this port for the next Nintendo Handheld in years to come.

Off topic somewhat, but has the port of Soul Calibur for DS been totally scrapped and forgotten. Or did I dream that idea up entirely.

It was never a port, it was some website speculating that DS "could" run SC just going by it's visuals..

But mario 64 was an N64 game, sunshine was a cube game and so needs far more graphical power. It'd all have to be redone for the DS taking miles more time and effort. With the controls, you had the addition of the hose thing and I don't think there's room for that too on the DS.
