Sorry Magnakai, I meant to respond to your post a week ago but kind of forgot about the issue until someting last night.

As it stands, the download speeds at www.speedtest.net seem to cap out at around 4000kbps with a ping of around 850.

Accordining to my little wireless icon in the system tray my connection speed seems to fluctuate between 54.0Mbps and 48.0Mbps with signal strength of very good. Certainly I do seem to be on the very verge of the wireless signal as sometimes it will drop and I have to go downstairs and make minor adjustments to the position of the router.

Just dropped the WEP key and results were the same.

And I'm sorry but I don't know what QoS is.

Rossco, did you get any joy with your own router?

Nah still goosed. Its gone on too long, I'm just gonna buy a new one come payday next week, if I get the same results with that then NTL will be getting a bollocking on the phone!

Rossco have you checked the 3COM site for updated firmware for the router? Have you tried to do a reset on the router at all?

I'm afraid I cannot think of much else really.

Since you mention NTL I guess you're now on Virgin Media.
No idea if this applies to you or not, and can't see how it'd help if you already get full speed through a wired connection... but might be worth a try:

DONE! Just ordered a new one as I had one hell of an old modem. 2 weeks to wait maximum, so I'll keep you posted and tell you if it works. Cheers!!

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any recommendations in general for wireless modems/routers? I have a D-link G624 with is pathetic. I have to turn it on and off a couple of times a day to keep it running.

I had a Netgear ADSL modem/router which worked flawlessly non stop for 3 years. That was the successor to a Belkin router which barely made it past 12 months.
I now have cable and a D-Link router which has a pretty poor range and obviously had a falling out with the PS3 as they really do not get on.
Sky, AOL, Telewest and other major ISP's all supply Netgear stuff so it must be pretty good.

Netgear all the way, had one of these MIMO routers for over a year and its constantly worked flawlessly. Fantastic range, i live in a 3 story house and the signal is perfect all over it. Also works perfectly with the 360 and PS3.

Hmm interesting, very pricy though. I really hate having to pay alot of money just so I can use my £35/month service I already pay for!
