    Amiga 1200 Help, please

Hi, i've tried a few games but i don't seem to be having much joy.

My amiga rgb arrived today so i got chance to test it..but here are 3 results...

Altered Beast....Don't load (purple screen only)
Robocop..all load screens fine, game options, everything fine..problem is, ingame, graphics are messed up, but game still scrolls.
    Superfrog..game worked fine.

Superfrog is the only game that has worked so far..i'm either getting error messages, no load, or messed up graphics...anyone please help,

    Thank you.

(The problem in question is not the RGB..i re-read that, what i meant was, i've have the amiga fora few weeks, but only got to play it today, due to getting RGB)

    Thanks.

Just sounds like incompatibility with these old games and the A1200 AGA enhanced chipset.

    Either that or corrupted disks.

You need a Kickstart 1.3 degrader disk, I think I was going to do you one but we forgot about it..

    Mr Shadowdancer.. lol

Hi James..i got a relokick, it boots ok, then i remove and insert disc and i'm getting error messages..this one atm says Error Validating disc, key 880 checksum error

Also. i loaded project x from disc one..then after i press start..its asks me to insert disc 1 and press fire..which i've tried..andtaken out, re-insrted and tried again..same thing..

      Is my amiga broken? *sigh*

I really think its the amiga now, tried several more games, the results are..

Not loading, left up to 20 minutes and nothing, making loading noises but not getting anything else.

Software errors on entering disc..this includes aga software.

        And the corrupted graphics...sigh.

          Shouldn't it be Shadpw Dancer?

What other games have you tried, I think Superfrog was programed with A1200 compatability in mind so thats why that works but I'm pretty certain that theres no way of getting Robocop to work properly on a 1200 not even with things like Relokick

Try the disc on other amiga if possible. Have you got a hard drive and there are tools you can use. It might work well without using the floppy disc drive. Do you have enough memory ?

I'm pretty sure the budget re-release I had of Robocop 3 worked on my A1200.

Yeah I guess for some really incompatible games WHDLoad would be the only way (they fix the compatibility issues with the WHDLoadified file)..

Sounds like corrupted disks perhaps mate im afraid.. if some games work and some don't?

Do the boxes smell damp? If you carefully slide back the metal shield of the disk and angle it in the light, does it look "patchy" etc on the disk surface? If the games have been stored in a loft, garage, shed, whatever, and not protected properly, then they do get corrupted quite easily.. the mould, damp etc accelerates the process..
