Taiko no Tatsujin drums on PS3, anyone had any luck?

I'm probably going to grab an imported Japanese PS3 over a local or American PS3, as I want to keep playing my Taiko no Tatsujin games - and ideally pack away my ps2.

However I keep getting mixed results from people, some people say it will work via those USB PS2->PS3 controls, some people are saying it doesn't work.. so I'm guess it might be an issue relating to brand.

Has anyone had any luck getting these to work?

I've overcome the fact that if I want to get around the good ol' CERO censorship for PS3 games that I'll have to get new saves started on American/PAL region consoles first which I'm OK with, but if I can't get Taiko to work then I might opt for an American console.. (no censorship issues)

But yeah, has anyone had any success? and if so which brand adapter are you using? I'm thinking the Pelican one geared for Guitar Hero would probably be a good bet, but I can't seem to see anywhere that would ship to australia easily (ie not a big fan of ebay + paypal etc, CC + online webstore I'm much fonder of)

anyhow, any help ont he subject would be greatly appreciated!!

Also, as a sub-note, has anyone else bought from Yes-Asia, they are whom I'm planning on getting the PS3 from as they offer free express shipping on their PS3's, and they are the cheapest at $700AU.

they seem like a really good option, and from my email queriesI actually got plain clear english back (unlike some HK stores and engrishy responses)

Benjo - sorry can`t help you with the above, but thought I`d spread the taiko love by posting a reminder that Taiko no Tatsujin DS is out in Japan in a few days. Obviously, pecking at the touchscreen with a couple of blue-red drum-dog themed stylus/drumsticks won`t quite match the thrill of walloping the living crap out of the real taiko drums, but it`s sure to have a lunatic charm of its own.

Well my powerwave one semi-works. It only lets me hit the center drum hits whilst I'm in the menus, so I can't actually select anything difficulty/song/etc because the rim-hits don't work, but once you're actually in the song the drum works A-OK.

Guess I'll have a look at some other adaptors.
