Ninja Gaiden Sigma, anyone got a new American save-game?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with a fresh/new gamesave for Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but that is the US version made on an American console?

I imagine if you've got it, that you've already started playing it though, so maybe you could move your save that you're playing through, onto a memory stick or something, bung in the game and make it create a new file (I think it should create one just by default?) copy that somewhere and then just move your old one back?

Anyway if anyone can be bothered going through the hassle that'd be just awesome : )

(It's because I want to play uncensored on a JPN PS3)

the save game does not affect the censoring in this game.

i had a PAL version (censored)
got US version (Not censored)

Deleted PAL Savegame
saved US save game
tried PAL game with US save

still censored

the only way your gonna get it to be uncensored is to get the US version i'm afraid

Ah my friend, that is because it is dependent on the console on which the save game was originally created.

Basically, the disc is irrelevant, but the console you are playing on is important.

For example, you own a Japanese PS3, and you go to play Resistance, you could have the PAL version, the NTSC-J version, or the NTSC-U version, but no matter what the game when you play it will have the blood removed

This is because when you first boot the game, it checks to see which region console you are playing and thus which classification/ratings it should adhere to. However, this is the only time that the console performs the check, which is why you are able to get around it by using the game saves trick.

You need to have the game save made on a console in which it is uncensored though, not just by owning a copy of the game from a region where it uncensored.

This is why when you made a new game on your console, even though it was the US version of Ninja Gaiden, it still performed the initial check, detected that yours is a PAL PS3, and thus made it adhere to the PEGI, I believe it is? ratings system, and in turn censored the decapitations.

It does get a touch trickier, as whilst the specific copy of the game you are playing doesn't make a difference in your console, it does regarding game saves.

In my example, if I wanted to get blood back in Resistance, what I would need to do is get someone with a PAL or NTSC-U console to start up a game in Resistance, and then send that to me. However the copy of the game they make the save with, needs to match the one I will be playing with myself, because whilst it doesn't matter to the console which region disc it plays, it matters to the save.

To this end, if someone made me a game save with an American Resistance, it would need to be an American Resistance that I would be using as well to get the game to load up with blood.

So yeah, if you want to get the decapitations in Ninja Gaiden Sigma, you would need someone with either a PAL or NTSC-U Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but a NTSC-U console, to create a gamesave then send it to you. And then depending on which version of the game they made it with (most likely American, as it'd be a wonder why an American would be playing a PAL version of the game) you would use to load up that save and play with

Which is basically what I'm trying to get also, as I've got an American copy of the game headed my way.

I'm kind of surprised at how difficult it is though, I've asked over at GameFAQs and despite that being a site populated I would imagine in majority by Americans, it doesn't seem anyone is willing to quickly pump out a new gamesave for me

Anyway, I hope that wasn't too verbose and that I didn't confuse anything but put simply;

Your console censors X game, you get someone in an uncensored region to create a game save for you, you load up the game save with the same region game that it was made with, and you get an uncensored game


So yeah, if you find an American that creates a game save for you for Ninja Gaiden please be sure to let me know!

edit: Mind you I've been hearing people say that they've got a PAL console, but imported a US copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma and have said it then becomes uncensored, I originally put this down to people not realising which decapitations people are talking about (normal enemies can still be decapitated). But if that is the case, then it sounds like it might have been actually physically changed on the disc, and if that's the case then I have no need for concern and will be playing an uncensored Ninja Gaiden Sigma shortly!

However still having a gamesave would be nice as a backup :P

The censorship in Ninja Gaiden Sigma is based purely on the region of the game, not the console. You don't need to fart around with saves like you did in Resistance. Just buy the US version of the game and get chopping those heads off!

I can confirm this. In my case, JPN console + US game = decaps galore.

having owned the pal version and the US one

on a pal console

the PAL one was censored
the us one was not

It is interesting that they hard-coded it on to specific versions of the disc in this case though!

Are they still messing around with the decaps in Ninja Gaiden? I never understood it, the original game on Xbox didn't have decaps in PAL territories either however they put them back in for Ninja Gaiden Black and now they took them out again for Sigma ?

yep

PAL one is censored with no decaps
US in uncensored with decaps aplenty
JPN one is also censored i believe but i have not played that one

I was in CEX yesterday and stumbled across the 18+ European version of Sigma, which has decaps. Of course being CEX they couldn't find it, even after I'd made them look through twice

Anyway will a PAL save work with a US version, if I ever get one?

Why the UK is censored and not mainland Europe is a bloody disgrace. Surely there must be a way to unlock them in the UK version???
