    PS2 games in black&white!

    Hi..

    Well I recently baught a new 37" HD LCD ( Samsung R88 --> http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...6r88bdxxeu.asp )

    and when trying to play ntsc games on my ps2, they're in black & white. Theres a menu on the TV to change it over to NTSC but it doesnt help....on my 7year old previous TV, it worked fine and i didn't change settings then. I use an s-video cable (I think) which plugs into where the aerial socket is. Any help would be appreciated! thanks.

    Shouldn't an SVHS cable plug into an SVHS socket? You need RGB to get colour. RF won't cut it.
    Kept you waiting, huh?

      You really arnt using RF that would be nuts, get yourself an RGB scart lead or Component video cables.

        one of these - you'll need to set your ps2 to output component in the dash (YPrPb option).

          Thanks for the help. I'm using something like this : http://archives.cnn.com/2000/TECH/co.../psone.rfu.jpg which I've always used (for SNES, PS1 etc) and it was fine with my old T.V. But i'm looking at them component wires and it looks like I have to plug in 5 differant wires to the TV? Where do they go?

              An RGB scart lead will be ok I suppose. It won't be able to progressive scan though which your TV can do. (Prog scan is better picture quality).

              Your TV is an HDTV so it's designed to use component leads (at least as far as progressive scan on the PS2 is concerned). You'll have 3 plugs on the back that are Red Green and Blue. So that's three of the wires. The other two are for sound "yellow and red (stereo)".

                White and red for stereo audio. Yellow is Composite video
