    Tate a TV 28"

I've now got two televisions in my bedroom, ones a 50" HD for current gen gaming, and a 28" crt for retro stuff.

Ok..i am buying a supergun next week and i will be playing vertical shooters too, problem is..my crt is a sony 28" wega trinitron and i kid you not, the back is huge!! i feel, this can't be flipped on its side.

So..i need to sell, which is a shame as the picture is so very vibrant and crisp, it really is..so! please can you tell me 28" models that go into tate safely.

    ........

I was considering buying a rotating monitor, but, alot of pictures i've personally viewed, if not in a cab, the games are on a tated tv..anyway..will leave a expert to come in and help please!

It may be huge but I think it would probably work. Not sure how you would keep it like that but, unless they really ****ed up their QA, Sony fat tellies have usually been very reliable.

Does it have to be a 28"? There are a lot of good 21" TVs you could use and they are much better for tating due to the more manageable size and weight.

With regards to the monitor (assuming you mean an LCD), I wouldn't bother, low res PCBs will look absolutley crap on it. Make sure you get a standard CRT

I'd be interested in a 21" one as well preferably one with a RGB scart, as my sony one only has a normal scart socket for some reason, any suggestions? I've thought about a Hantarex video monitor, but they're way too expensive.

I have a widescreen 28" sony CRT [I think the range just before the WEGAs] which is equally huge, with a curvy back that just does not 'tate. If you can manage to hold it upright and give it a go, as I did briefly, you may find that the colour of the tube goes all funny.

You will look like a bit of a nutter going into cash converters - where else can you get big CRTs? - and asking to look at the back of their TVs. Has to be done though!
