Dreamcast USA RGB SCART?

Hello there, recently hooked my PAL Dreamcast up to a monitor via VGA....all pal games with the VGA marking have been fine, however the 2 Japanese games that claim to be compatible that ive tried (original V.Striker 2 & jap copy Cap Vs Snk) havnt worked, the monitor goes into stand by while the game plays in the background.

Is this a problem with jap games on pal DC over VGA...perhaps my non official vga adaptor....or a monitor problem?

are you using a swap disk or a modchip?if you are using the disc, maybe the disc is forcing the video mode?

there is a patched utopia disc doing the rounds, available on megagames

good point, well yes I am using DC-X(?) disc for Virtua Striker, but Cap vs SNK is self booting....I have an old utopia but when i tried to boot that it told me this software didnt work with this AV cable.........perhaps i need to burn myself this alternate utopia by the sounds of it!

Changed title, wondered if you can use an RGB scart lead on an NTSC USA Dreamcast?

I imagine so, I use RGB SCART on my Japanese DC.

Yeah, an rgb scart works fine on a US Dreamcast.
