Which hosting company?

When I started the Marathon des Sables forum (http://www.themds.co.uk in case anyone is interested ) I just used a cheap and cheerful hosting company as I didn't know if it would be of any interest or not. Anyway, its developed in to a really useful source and seems to be generating a decent amount of traffic considering its members are all there through word of mouth.

The hosting company I'm using seem to be using a slow DB server, so the forum is timing out at busy times of the day and generating lots of SQL errors.

So, its time to move it. I'm looking for someone reliable and reasonably priced who support MySQL.

Any ideas?

Hosting is a minefield.

I use www.lunarpages.com , very cheap for what you get, but generally a cut above the usual host that over-promises but under-delivers.

However, they're US based, and as such, not really as fast as having a UK host, and any site I host there will NEVER be listed under google's UK specific results. These are two pretty big cons about using US hosts, but they're so much better value for money than UK hosts.

One UK host to definitely avoid is www.compila.com. From being hacked several times, to being kicked off the services for my site taking up too many resources, let's say I wasn't a happy customer.
