    Gameboy Player

Appologies if this has been covered before, but can a UK Gameboy Player work on a Jap/US Cube with a freeloader?

I know a UK GC works with a USA GB player.
I'll go and check my USA GC with my other Pal GB player.

    Will report back soon.......

Ok i've had no luck getting my PAL GB player to work with my USA GC and Freeloader.
I tried both boot methods (Z button) and got nothing!

Sorry mate looks like you're stuck with getting a US one then.

        Nuts ft:

The UK ones are expensive enough, now I have to import one..... methinks the words "it" and "****" are in order, just not in that order

Although this probably doesnt help, I believe the various regions Gameboy Players can be used anywhere as long as you have the right region boot disc.

I could use my JPN GBPlayer on my PAL/NTSC machine with Freeloader btw.. so it must be the standard PAL -> NTSC problem.

However, I know that JPN players can run on USA machines fine with a USA startup disc (http://www.play-asia.com/paos-17_001...000000000.html).

Maybe this is true of the PAL one too? You would just need to get your hands on a US startup disc then - these can be ordered from Nintendo but they would need to be sent to a US address (and they cost around $15 IIRC).

There's no region check for peripherals - Your only problem is the region check on the boot disc.

But again - There's no region check for peripherals. That includes joypads, modems, Gameboy players or broadband adaptors.

I got my USA one through Playcentric.com, who are absolutly brilliant, quick, cheap delivery and usually lots of stock - (the website shows stock, unlike dvdbo) Any way it was ?34.60 at the time of order INCLUDING delivery - Airmail (it maybe a pound more or less exprensive now due to currency fluctuations) so should work out cheaper than a UK one!

Yeh what are you on about? GBA Players are about 35 quid.

So to clear everything up, I "can" use a UK GBPlayer on my US/Jap Gamecube "if" I had a Jap/US GBPlayer disc?
