The 360 vga lead mate....not sure where's cheapest but Play seem pretty reasonable:

Cashback from over 400 brands all on one platform. Shop with Rakuten & stack offers with discounts, voucher codes and cashback for great savings at top brands.

Official lead is best but some of the 3rd party leads are pretty decent too (& cheaper). I've used one of the Joytech leads Play are doing for a tenner & they're ok......unless you have a huge widescreen monitor then the difference in picture quality in comparison to the official lead is pretty negligible.

The leads have stereo phono connectors (red/white) to hook up to a sound system if your monitor doesn't have speakers.

No difference in terms of what they do...they'll both let you hook up to a monitor.

I haven't heard anything or tried the Gamexpert lead so can't say how good or bad it is in comparison to the Joytech or official lead.

Edit: from memory the Joytech lead comes bundled with a (cheap) optical audio lead if you have a 5.1 sound system.

I can get a dolby 5.1 setup for ?30 so maybe i should get the joytech one, as i can't be bothered to pay more than a tenner when a cheaper one does the same thing.

For the sake of an extra quid it's probably worth getting the Joytech as you suggest. It'd at least get you started & you can always buy a better quality optical lead at a later on.

Worth double checking that the 5.1 setup your looking at can definitely handle an optical input though as I'm not sure how commonplace it is in cheaper systems.
