Help! im stuck on the blue X-box soft mod screen.

Hi i got a lend of some guys stuff to do a soft-mod on my x-box.

So i am at a blue screen at the moment and if i go to the switch soft mod on/off option and go for the switch on an error comes up saying-

Batch process failed.
The last item was: .
Action: rename

i originally thought that was because the soft mod was already on but very much doubt it now.

It must be a Krazie endure mod as the logo is bouncing around the screen.

Can any one help?- thanks

I vaguely remember getting that dialogue when I tried to do the upgrade from Kayzie's Ndure 1.1 to 1.1.1 (or whatever it was). I eventually gave up using the upgrade and stuck with the old one.

Are you getting this problem before you've even installed the softmod?

Hi all i no is i stuck the usb stick into the controller port with the lead he supplied and copied the 2 save files onto my HD and then i stuck in splinter cell and went to check points and the leds went red and im on the blue screen with all the options.

1st option i tried was the switch on/off and it came up with that error when i chose on.

kind of scared to mess about with the other option just incase.

Do you think i need to rename the save files as it says Action rename in the error?

Or maybe the mod is on and i need to select one of them dash board options no?

who sent you the mem key, and what version of the softmod do you have?

did you do the basic setup then the minimum setup, if so that may be your problem, remove all traces of the softmod and start again. also make sure you have the later version of the dash, the minimum setup works with older versions, but the basic setup requires the latest one, the easiest way is to connect the xbox to the net in normal dash mode. I believe the halo 2 update is sufficient also.

Well just woke this morning and turned on my x-box and it says.

Service required call costumer support.( leds flashing red to green )

It actually said that last night but at at least it would still let me load the splinter cell last night and go to the blue screen.

Its almost as if it wont let me load the game because i had to switch it off to go to bed last night.

It wont play any other games but it done that last night anyway.

More like a kill mod than a soft mod.

If it will not boot the game from DVD I don't think you can fix it without a chip.
Never had a problem with softmodding myself. You just need to be careful which one you choose as you have discovered.
Have you tried starting the Xbox with the tray open?
