PS2 imports on PS3

I'm considering buying a US PS3 and I was wondering, will I be able to play my JP PS2 games on it using my swap magic discs? I'm guessing no, so if not are there any import solutions available for this yet?

No, you can't play your JP PS2 games with Swap Magic*, and no, there is no solution yet.

* If I have understood correctly, disc itself would work just fine, but there is no way swap disc without PS3 noticing it.

You have to hope someone will program a region free PS2 emulator to run on PS3 via linux.

Decide which is more import USA or Japan for PS2 games. Not good if it is 50 50

There are a few videos knocking around confirming that Swap Magic does work perfect with the US PS3 (EE Enabled).

You have to take the entire upper casing off to do the swap, which in reality is a stupid idea as it is.

Buy a cheap ps2 instead.

I still have my PS2 so it's no big deal, but I was hoping to free up some room. Most of my games are US though so I'll just get a US PS3 then, thanks for the help.
