I would recommend ghost2fitter.co.uk, although they seem to have no mention of PS2 products or services on their website.

Give them an email. They're very helpful.

      I did
They don't do 'em no more...
They recommended gameworlddirect though (very generously).
      Anybody used them?

Bowlers in Trafford Park manchester have a massive pc fair each saturday, I had mine done there when I used to own a ps2.

they do the other consoles now but should still do the older consoles.

I don't know about GameWorldDirect's chipping service but I bought my Swap Magic + Slide Card Pro set from them. Very fast service. A few days later I decided I wanted a spare slide card and replacement disc tray front for my other PS2 so I e-mailed them to see if they would supply me (as they didn't list it separately from the discs). Within 48hrs they'd sent me the set (worth ?5) for free.
That sort of thing is pretty rare nowadays.

I haven't had a freebie like that since 2002 when Sega sent me a brand new copy of DC Soul Calibur because an order for a controller I'd made through Dreamarena was delayed for a few weeks.

Do you have a bulky ps2?

And if you do is it easy to do the swap magic when your Ps2 is standing upright?

I do have two older style PS2s yes. I can't see that there would be any problem using Swap-Magic+slide card with the console vertical. All you're doing with the slide card is disengaging the disc tray lock and then re-engaging it. The rest is just opening and closing the tray as usual.

If you go the Swap-Magic+slide card route I recommend you get the 'pro' kit with the replacement disc tray front. It makes locating the slide card correctly much easier and looks better too. But whatever you decide on buy some epoxy glue and a craft knife. Removing the tray front almost guarantees you'll break the incredibly thin retaining arms. I have a few recommendations based on my own experience which may help you avoid this.

The craft knife is because all three replacement tray fronts I've seen seem to have been designed for some post v.7 PS2 model. The (actually redundant) retaining side tabs are in the wrong position and need paring down or you'll bend/break the retaining arms (again) and the tray draw won't close properly.
