Can I streamline XP to suit my need's ?.

Im going to install an external HD on my pc so Im going to streamline my current pathetic 20 gb HD on my PC so it can free up some space as my ram is a bit pathetic too.
This will enable me to store all my pics music etc on the external HD and hopefully get my PC running a bit faster as its really s-l-o-w just now .

What I need to know is what can I strip out from XP that I dont need and so my pc will still function properly.

I dont use my PC for gaming just surfing the web and email.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I seem to remember using an app called XPLite for this once.

How much effort is req'd for a fresh install and do you mean deleting my current version of xp and installing lite manually.

            Is it hard to do?.

            (Im a PC Noob)

nLite OS is really good for allowing to create then burn a custom version of Windows XP.

Ah it was actually Nlite that I used!
Doing a fresh install isn't hard at all , just make sure you have all your drivers available on disc before you start.
Your PC will run better anyway most likely should you do a reformat and install.
