    supergun sound question

i currently own a arcadeheaven supergun,it has a 3.5mm jack on the back to connect to an amp,ive been told the supergun chucks out amplified sound so surely connecting this to my avr-1602 denon reciever will make the amp think it has to amplifie the sound again which will obviously cause problems

my denon does not have a phono connection for a turntable

so can i run the supergun through the amp or do i have to buy somthing which changes the line level,if so what do i have to buy and what does it look like??

    any help would be great

this is where i got it www.arcadeheaven.co.uk

oh yeah the game im hoping to run on this streetfighter hyper fighting

oh yeah im also having this prob with my mvs board (trying to get stereo sound from my board but it sounds ****e)

    hi i made this today

    sorry about the **** pic.
anyway this seems to work but not very well basically i cant turn the speaker volume up on the mv-1f board more than quarter of the way without the sound going all crackely,so this means i have to turn the sound right up on my
amp but im suffering with terrible mains humming noise and no bass.

could it be that im trying to run the sound through a floppy disc drive power cable into speaker cable (crappy speaker cable at that) but i cant understand why i cant turn the sound up on the board, ive tryed putting it in the headphone port aswel and i can hardly even hear it when its in that port.

also what does a line level converter look like and is it sometimes called something else.

also the way i wired it was i connected single wires to +--+ and then twisted wires connected to +- into one wire which i then soldered to a single phono (RCA) connecter on both sides (one for right and one for left) is this the right way to do it cause its my first time at trying anything like this

    many thanks

The majority of games have an onboard amp chip, it's the one with a few legs on top of a metal heat sink usually. The supergun itself doesn't amp the sound, if you look inside it's just a bunch of wires that go direct from the game board to your TV. There are no problems plugging it into a hi-fi or whatnot, just make sure to turn the board volume down before you start up, so you can adjust upwards instead of blowing things up at the get-go.
Also, may I recommend gamesx.com forums for stuff like this as you're more likely to get the help that you want in the detail that you want. (No disrespect to the NTSC-UKers intended)

Sounds like an overload of power going into the board, the sound problem, check your voltages coming off the JAMMA harness and adjust the PSU as necessary, you really want between 0.2v each way for the best results.
