    PS3 & in-game chat, HELP!!!

I was up 'til 4am trying to get either headset (Bluetooth - Sony Ericsson PV720 & Socom USB) to work reliably. Only a handful of times when joining a Motorstorm game did speech work. I only managed to get it working twice out of 20 games whilst hosting a room.
My Nat Settings are 2, I'm using a Speedtouch 585v6, does anybody have any help? If it carries on, I'm getting shot of it - the most frustrating gaming experience since trying to get pirated tapes working on a Spectrum in me school days!!!

Give up Nige - It's going to take another few firmware revisions to iron out this mess.

The 4 hours we spent was bad enough - 4am is insane.

True, but I'm pretty sure it's fixable. Myth has the same headset as me & seems to be having a stress free experience!

Think its something to do with the connection I have a mate who cant chat with another mate but I can chat to each of them its a bit weird not really sure how to sort it.

That's EXACTLY what I thought it was last night Myth but we managed to get around it.

What seemed to happen was that sometimes on joining a lobby one or all of us would experience headset disconnection from the PS3 but with no way to tell the others - one quits, others wonder wtf, they quit, rinse and repeat.

I got round it once last night by quitting to dash and reconnecting the headset from one of the XMB menus before reloading the game and joining again.

It seems like going from a chat lobby on the XMB to game was a big contributor. Seems it disconnects the headset and it never comes back again.

I don't know what NAT settings "2" means, as such - this is just something Sony have made up - but have you tried putting the PS3 in the router's DMZ? See page 93 of this manual - this should give the optimal network configuration for voice chat.

              Stroller.

Stroller, I f I understood the manual or what to do I probably would. If you can give me a step by step idiots guide of what to put & where It'd be appreciated.
                Thanks

If you want a step by step guide to setting your router's NAT settings, look on http://portforward.com

Their guides don't have any PS3 entries, but here's the one for your router (not v6, though) with Xbox Live:

EDIT: looking at the manual posted, it suggests your router's web app address is http://192.168.1.254 or http://speedtouch.lan - different from portforward...
