Removing Live Membership from 360?

My 12 Month live account runs out this month and i don't have the money in my bank yet to fund another 12 months, i've been told that MS take out the money and renew your subscription automatically which i don't want them to do.

I want to remove my card for the time being and order the subscription online when i get the cash.

I've been into settings and i can't find anyway to stop my subscription or drop down to silver.

Can anyone tell me exactly what will happen and whether i am safe leaving my CC details on there?

Just trade in a **** game towards 3 onths subscription and it should be ok.

You have to phone them up, I had to do this. Annoying.

To stop them from automatically taking money in the future, stick to those Live subscription redeem cards you can buy. I buy monthly ones now and again, which is great because I rarely use Live, but do sometime when X game comes out.

You might be able to do it at https://billing.microsoft.com/ if you sign in with your Passport details. There's a cancel button, anyway, but I don't know whether it works.

You cant remove card details unless you put a new one in.

No, but it looks like you can cancel the gold subscription, which would stop the rebilling.
