Xbox 360 120gig Import Q

Hello all,

Was thinking about getting the 120gig drive from the US but of course do not want to lose all my saves from my current drive.

Obviously the drive comes with the transfer cable but the question i have is...

Is the disk you have to insert to start the process region free?

any help gratefully received and try not to limit it to guesses like "the hd dvd disk was so this should be" as i can do that myself.

I imported one from play asia and can confirm that the disk in the pack to kick off the transfer is region encoded. I assume the US one will be the same.

I guess a plan might be to import the drive and then borrow the disk off someone who got the drive over here?

Given that the drive isn't out and there doesn't seem to be any concrete assurance of transfer cables, it might be easier to take the 2 HDD's to someone with an Asian (?) machine.

Managed to get around it the really long winded way of recovering my Gamertag on the new HDD and transferring the save games over by memory card. the only games I came across where I couldnt transfer my save game were - Perfect Dark Zero and Viva Pinata. A bit of a pain but overall not so bad.

heh that was going to be my next question as i borrowed a 512mb memory card from work as was going to use that.

also i can't seem to find the UK 120gig on any UK websites

To transfer pdz you have to boot the game up and choose switch storage device.
