Lost/black recovery screen on DAX 3.40-OE firmware - help!

    Hi guys,

It appears that I can no longer access the recovery menu on my PSP (which had usually appeared when I held R whilst powering on). I have tried to access it in this way but I am now left with the screen going black and the psp remaining powered on. Since this function is pretty essential to change between 1.50 and 3.40 kernels I was wondering if there was anything I could do about it? I really don't want to lose 1.50 functionality, so I was wondering whether there was any way I could do a fresh install of DAX 3.40-OE or go to another custom firmware such as the M33 etc? I am a bit sceptical doing this because I have lost the recovery menu after all and don't want to brick it. Any suggestions?

does it boot normally if you dont hold down R?

not really sure why the recovery menu would be lost.

The PSP boots fine but the recovery menu doesn't seem to want to boot. I'm not sure as to whether this is me being an idiot and having deleted the file or something else.

probably a file that has been deleted off the top of my head. It was something like psp\recovery\eboot.pbp or something like that.

You wont be able to reflash it with 3.40oe and the last psp i tried to upgrade to M33 bricked.

someone will undoubtably be able to help though

After much playing around it seems that the menu is not lost after all but takes around a minute or so to come up when holding R. However, when I use the d-pad it disappears. Not sure if that is a sign of hope or just as futile!
