    Yet Another Scart Question

I have the argos scart splitter like everyone on the planet seems to, this works fine, however i have a problem with a blue tinge on the display. My setup is as follows:

PS2 (pal) is connected via a PS1 official scart cable (pal)
GC is (pal) is connected via an Official GC cable (pal)
Super Famicom is connected via a Modified scart cable (with capacitors - is this to boost the signal ?)

the GC and Famicom work fine, but the PS2 requires the RGB recode button changing (when changed the GC and Famicom have the blue tinge).

Its not a major problem but would like to know why it happens, and can i mod the PS2 cable (as this seems to be the cause).

    Thanks in advance !

Have you got the a-b or b-a button down (the ones next to the RGB button)? If so, make sure that neither of the two buttons are down. The PS2 always seems to output a signal.

By the nature of the type of button it seems one needs to be pressed down, but by lightly pressing on one to release the other it seems to have fixed it. Thanks for that, does this happen to others ?

Yup. My picture was green tinted when I had one of those buttons down. I assumed it was a duff cable (annoying shelled out for a new one) until I happened to faff about one day.

                Hah!
I had this problem too, took about 10 minutes of fiddling to try and turn them both off.

I ended up with both of them on at one point and was in a real mess!

What is that Recode button for anyway? Is it for getting an output signal from B or C to the A socket? It seems strange the way it`s designed to be in either one position or the other without an off setting.

                    Yes that's exactly what's for.

I think it's meant to say 'Record' and you'd have a video plugged into 'A' thus allowing you to record from 'B' or 'C'.

                      I wondered about that myself.

                      Thanks for the reply.
