    US HD-Tv's

hi thinking of purchasing one from ebay
however thought should post here first.

it is very tempting as ? to $ is so strong at the moment
that you can get big size hdtv for half of the price as here in UK.

Question is will have any problems, im a bit dense when comes to these things lol. ntsc/pal confuse me a bit, there anything i should be aware of.

or should i just go in full steam ahead?

Well the freeview and/or analog tuners wont work, and there will be no scart connections so televsion viewing will be ruled out unless you connect via hdmi or maybe composite where possible with an adaptor. As a purely gaming or movie screen tho you will have less problems apart from needing a step down transformer to convert the voltage from 110v to 240v.

The vast majority of NTSC displays don't support PAL/50Hz signals at all, which means you wouldn't be able to watch Freeview/Sky (including HD) /Cable etc at all.

If you only want to play games, and only use imported DVDs (or HD discs) on your display, then you would probably be ok.

It's really not worth the hassle though, to be honest. (what happens if something goes wrong, for example?)
