    Saturn 4Mb Carts

Just a quick question about some of the Japanese Saturn games that require a 4Mb cart - if I buy one of the cheat devices which have the 4Mb included, can I use that cart with any game that requires one on a Japanese console or are they game specific with individual games requiring individual carts?

    Thanks.

Yeah im quite sure anything will work if it has 4MB.

The Action replay 4in1 works with every thing mate, bar, i think, SNK games that require it's own brand 1meg cart.

Only King Of Fighters 95 has it's own dedicated RAM cart. So don't buy just the CD on it's own.

All the others work with either work with a 1MB cart or 4MB depending on the title.

KOF 96 has glitches when you you run it with an official 4MB card, the fighters suddenly become garbled. It runs absolutely fine with the official 1MB card.

So I generally leave the 4MB card plugged in and occasionally swap it out for the 1MB for the fussy games (can't remember the others there's only a couple) or to swap data in and out of the on board ram to my memory card.

This Action Replay 4M Auto Plus one looks like a winner.

Does 1MB/4MB auto switching and has memory on board.

KoF95 includes a ROM cartridge (Read-Only Memory) ; it stores some game sprites etc, can't play the game without it.

That explains a lot! When I sold my KOF '96, the guy who bought it said there was something wrong with the game. Tried it out (with the 4 MB cart), he was right, but I never had such problems before (with the Action Replay). Sold it to another guy, no problems whatsoever...

              EDIT:
BTW, there are 3 different versions of KOF'96: normal, ROM edition, RAM edition.

If anyone is looking for a 3MB RAM cart: http://www.gamefreax.com/lshop,showd...130163100,.htm

(yeah, I know, they get advertised as memory expansion, thought I'd get me a quadruple memcart... and it says 4 MB on the PCB itself, works with almost any game. I can post what games it DOESN't work with)

I think I might have to get myself one the Action Replay carts myself and then I won't have to worry about excessive cart swapping.

i had the pal version of king of fighter 95 that came with a rom cart.....i "think" the japanese version of ultraman also uses its own rom cart

if i remember correctly the japanese version of in the hunt does not work with the 4 in 1 cart.....marvel superheroes vs streetfighter does work but has bad graphics corruption

Soukyugurentai works but also has a graphics problems (i think there is a update version of the game called otoke or something that has no problems)

He's talking about games that use 4mb cartridge, Soukyugurentai doesn't need one plus he said he has a jap saturn.

Its only if you play Soukyugurentai on a western console that you need the rerelease is it not?
