Lo dudes,
On the new motherboard i've just got i have a optical out connection. Was hoping to hookup my 360 hd-dvd drive to pc and then that connection to my Denon AV receiver and get 5.1/DTS up and running.
However it just ain't happening! I've installed the latest drivers for the Realtek ALC889A codec that supposed to give me upto 7.1 sound but nothing. When i go into the control panel and test the formats it'll support it works fine, the receiver changes to Dolby Digital and plays the test notes fine, same with DTS.
However a DVD or HD-DVD through PowerDVD just ain't having it at all
When i look at Manage Devices it only gives me the configuration on the HDMI audio device (which is my ATI 2900XT) not for the realtek high definition device.
Any ideas at all??
