This guy's blog has step-by-step instructions; apparently you just need to run the setup program with Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility:

Here are the instructions I first posted on Live How to get the Nintendo WiFi adapter to run on Vista As you may know the Nintendo WiFi adapter isn’t supported on anything except Windows XP. …

To be honest that WiFi adaptor is a waste of space, you'll be better off with a wireless router, I used to have one on XP over a year ago when I had a DS and it caused constant problems for me.

Same for me. I got a wireless router in the end.

The ICS error could be due to a number of things. How does your PC connect to the internet - through a modem or a router / modem combo? Also, have you previously set up ICS to connect one or more other machines (i.e. other PCs or a 360 etc) to the internet via your PC?

If so there may be a workaround but you'll need to tell me exactly what your setup is so I can suggest something.

To start with though the most simple thing to try would be completely uninstalling the adaptor and removing it from your computer, then reboot. Next, download the latest version of the installer / drivers from Nintendo and run the downloaded installer from your hard drive, instead of using the CD, and make sure you run in in WinXP SP 2 compatability as described above. Some ICS errors were fixed in the updated versions so this may solve your problem.

This is going to sound stupid, i have a wireless router connected to my PC and while i have setup my 360 and Wii i can't get my DS to work with it. I had the WIFI adapter so decided to try that on my new laptop. I am guessing that because the laptop is getting the signal wireless it cant send out the signal again through my WIFI adapter

It can work via your router, but unfortunately the DS doesn't support the wireless encryption you should be using (WPA-PSK or WPA-PSK2). If you change the encryption method on your router to WEP it should work fine, however you should note that WEP encryption can be easily broken nowadays so just assume that your wireless connection is unsecure whilst using it.

Yeah i am useing WPA so that is why i can't get my DS to work with my router.

My laptop will not connect to the network if i change to WEP and as you say its more unsafe.

Is your router a modem/router combo or just a router with a separate modem attached?

Also what make and model is it?
