which to get? DDR 2nd mix or Club Mix dreamcast.

Which is the better of the 2?

Club mix is basically a tweaked version of 2nd mix, so Club mix is newer and possibly better. There isn't a lot in it.

I haven't played Club Mix but most of the songs on it I've played on other versions like Konamix.

I'd say that 2nd mix is the better choice of the two, the songs on CM are mostly beatmania tunes which a lot of the time don't transfer over to DDR as well as one would hope (the tunes are decent but the step patterns don't always feel right), 2nd Mix on the other hand has a great selection of tunes, a number of which are seen as classics of the genre.

The bad news is that becasue of 2nd Mix's age the presentation is very basic compered to later mixes for example half/quarter beat notes do not flash like they do from 3rd mix onwards however if you have both 2nd Mix & Club Mix you can disc swap from CM over to 2nd Mix which will give you the flashing steps.

Personally I'd recommend getting both but if you have to choose one over the other then definitely go for 2nd mix.

definately, if you can find one

or you could use a psone mat with an adaptor, but I haven't tried that.

          * edit * what I meant to say my post above, its really down to which songs you prefer, the games themselves are very similar.

A PS mat with convertor will work, it's what I've been using for playing DDR on the DC since I bought 2nd Mix about 3 years ago.

Game's own brand dance mats should do the trick, they are the exact same design as the "Dancing Step" mat that I had used for over 2 years, basically any mats that are a rip off of the official Konami ones i.e. ones with the blue and pink arrows should be OK.

Stay clear of Rave Station mats there isn't a single person I know including myself who hasn't had problems with these shortly after using them. I can't comment on the metal Logic 3 ones because I haven't had a chance to properly use one,I bought one last monday from Game Station but it was faulty so I got a refund and bought a Jap GC instead but from messing around on it briefly it certainly seemed sturdy and closer to the arcade pad than the standard plastic controllers.

Yes but the DC ones are hard to come by now, and tend to be quite expensive.
