    Wii Internet Connection Problem

    Hi everyone

Trying to connect the Wii to my wireless network at the moment but having a bit of a problem.

It sees my wireless network ok but when I add the WEP code (same as the one being used successfully to connect the PC to the network) I'm getting error code 51330..."Cannot connect to internet for unknown reason".

Can anyone offer me any assistance?

    Thanks

I think this is the problem I had. I entered the wep key but i had to change the type of key i was inputting to WAP (I think that was it) even though it was a wep key code.

Just try adn change the option of what kind of code it is that you are entering (if that makes sense)

Thanks for the replies...no I'm not with Orange I'm within Virgin Media.

Eventually got it working tonight by setting it up manually rather than clicking "find available access point".

Added the pass key and hey presto!!!

            Thanks again

Turns out I'm not sorted after all.

It appears I've connected via a unencrypted wireless network in the area and not my own....knew something was fishy when I could still connect to the shop channel while my router and modem were switched off.

Been buggering about with the WEP keys again this evening, selecting all of the different encryption types and giving them a try, but still no joy.

I did breifly get an error code in the range 52000-52099 range talking about enabling DHCP server functionality but, having checked the router, it already is.

              Back firmly with 51330 again....aaaarrrgghhhh!!!!!

My router was set to "G" only and not "B/G Mix".

Changed it and all is now working off my own network....so I wont get 6 months in the jail for "stealing" someone elses.

Thanks for the replies MattyD and elaniel.
