Can't transfer files to a Memory Stick PRO Duo

I'm trying to transfer my PSP saves from my 32MB card to a 1GB card on my PC using a card reader, but every time I get an error that says "Cannot copy PIC1. Device not ready" or similar. PIC1 is a .PNG.

Some files it's copying, and some it's just refusing to, and shutting down the window. I've tried formatting it to no avail, and I've tried to copy them back to the 32MB card which it's doing, no problem. Formatting is now not working "Windows is unable to format the disk" or it just refuses to acknowledge that it's there.

What's going on? Have I just got a dodgy card? Anything else I can try?

Sounds strange, how about putting the card back in the PSP and copying the files across from the PC to PSP (rather than the card reader), might work ?

Have you tried formatting with the psp.

Yeah, it works fine on the PSP. Weird, though. My card reader's never struggled with anything before! I'll just have to use the PSP in future for this card I guess. Looking around online, I suspect MagicGate may be to blame.
